Dare to be a Daniel | Men's Conference

  • Calvary Bible Church 2 Meadow Lane Rutland, VT, 05701 United States (map)

Men are under attack today. We all know it. We all have experienced it. The question is: What will we do about it? What will you do about it? Life lessons from Daniel and David can equip us to navigate the challenges of today’s world.

Join us for a 4 part Men’s Retreat that will provide practical answers to four key issues:

Integrity. What will you be remembered for at your funeral? We are surrounded by so many examples of moral failure, even in the church, that lack of integrity can feel normal. How can men create a legacy of integrity our children will be proud of?

Temptation. Media bombards us with a constant stream of temptation. Temptation to compromise our values, to betray our marriage vows, shade the truth, and self-medicate our insecurities. King David was defeated by temptation, while a teenage boy named Daniel stood strong. Which example are you following? How can men stand strong in a shifting world?

Workplace. Sometimes our jobs are hard. Sometimes they are boring or disappointing. Sometimes living our Christian values can threaten our career success. But our jobs are where we spend most of our lives. They will shape us, either for better or worse. How did David and Daniel survive tough times on the job, and make the marketplace count?

Influence. American culture is increasingly hostile to Christian values, which makes living as a witness for Jesus more difficult, and even dangerous. It is easy to want to avoid the struggle of living and speaking for Jesus in an increasing pagan society. But that is still our mission. Daniel did it successfully even in Babylon. As our country becomes more pagan, what did Daniel know, that we can learn and apply to influence others for the Almighty?
