Did you miss the drama performed on June 4th? It was written by our very own Sara Doenges and speaks to preparing our hearts for worship... not just Sunday, but every day!
14 churches. Over 400 volunteers. One great big day of service that took place all over Rutland county. Pretty amazing! Take a look at 2017's video!
And stay tuned for more as we get them!

We are part of a group called REACH (Rutland Evangelical Assoc. of Churches). We participate in an annual day of service across Rutland county involving over 400 volunteers! Why? To bridge the gap between our churches and the community. We desire to affect change by making connections and serving the needs of those around us, and we can't wait to see what God's going to do this weekend!
Parents' Night Out was Sunday, April 9 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. We had a staff of qualified adult volunteers and teen helpers to care for children so that parents had 3 uninterrupted hours of time by themselves!!! A Date Night? Finish a project? All ages were welcome, and it was amazing to see what a success this was... both from the parents' AND kids' points of view! Check out some of the great pics...
And here's a wonderful email from one of the parents... we're so glad we were able to do this, and can't wait for the next time!
Dear Calvary Bible Church,
Thank you for the gift of parents night out. It was a practical application of Biblical truth and ministry. It is hard for me to fully express how great a gift it was. To spend a few hours of uninterrupted time with my wife was a great joy and blessing. Sadly I cannot remember the last time I had so much fun with her as these times are few and far between. We found ourselves remembering who we are and what we mean to each other. These important details are easily lost in the business and chaos of day to day life. Please extend our heart felt thanks to all involved and let them know what a great impact it had on our relationship.
Please invite your friends and family and join us at either our Christmas Eve service, or Christmas Day service... or both!!
The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Since 1993, the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child, has collected and delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.
In 2016, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoebox gifts to reach another 12 million children. More than 500,000 volunteers worldwide, with more than 150,000 of those in the United States, are involved in collecting, shipping, and distributing shoebox gifts.
Individuals, families, churches and groups fill empty shoeboxes with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball—and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement. During National Collection Week (Nov. 14 – 21) Samaritan’s Purse collects the gift-filled shoeboxes at more than 4,000 drop-off sites in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
CBC is the Southern Vermont collection center for OCC, and we are looking forward to both our church packing party on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1pm, as well as the week following, as we see shoeboxes packed with love arriving from all over southern Vermont!
